Members of Congress
A Brief Reminder of your Oath of Office
Members of Congress,
It is a busy time in the United States. There are massively complex budgets that must be passed and signed into law. There are wars, conflict, and tensions rising in the world. The people of the United States continue to be politically divided. In the midst of it all it may be easy to forget your Oath of Office.

As a brief reminder, Article VI, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution establishes the Oath of Office:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”
As you are aware, in the election outcome of 2024, Republicans were able to hold a slight advantage in the House of Representatives and gained control of the U.S. Senate, thus providing control of the Executive and Legislative Branches of government. While there are multiple and deep concerns regarding voter suppression, gerrymandering, and the Electoral College, based upon law, Republicans have every right to pass legislation and a budget that might not have widespread appeal (to say the least).
Regardless, voters did not pass an initiative allowing the President to suspend the Presidential Oath of Office, or determine which parts of the U.S. Constitution he will abide by, and which articles, sections, and amendments he can choose to ignore.
The Presidential Oath of Office:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Voters did not pass an initiative allowing for the appointment of a South African Billionaire (with questionable citizenship status) to accelerate the destruction of Federal Agencies (particularly those who have either penalized or were investigating Tesla, SpaceX, and his other business interests), to collect personal taxation, banking, social security, and healthcare data on Americans, and to help himself to billions of dollars of taxpayer money.

Voters did not pass an initiative suspending or eliminating the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution, intended to prevent bribery and corruption.
“…And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

Voters did not pass an initiative to suspend or eliminate 1st Amendment Rights to Freedom of speech or the press.
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Voters did not rescind the Impoundment Control Act of 1974.
The Impoundment Control Act of 1974 (ICA) is a U.S. federal law designed to reinforce Congress’s constitutional authority over federal spending and to prevent the President from unilaterally withholding or deferring funds that Congress has appropriated.

And this is especially important for Members of Congress:
Voters did not rescind or suspend the laws related to the Misprision of a felony.
Misprision of a Felony (18 U.S. Code § 4):
Definition:
“Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.”
While loyalty to political party is admirable, faithfully executing your Oath of Office and defending the rule of law is immutable and must supersede all else. It is your duty to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
